ADDINOL Semi Synth 1040 is a fuel lisaving, semi lisynthetic low lifriction engine oil in SAE class 10W li40. The combination of high liquality mineral oil refinates and synthetic components with innovative additive packages guarantees excellent engine cleanliness as well as excellent protection against corrosion and wear. APPLICATION AREAS Suitable for all cars and vans with gasoline and diesel engines in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Particularly suitable for turbo engines, multi valve technology, catalytic converters and common rail injection technology. Not suitable for diesel particulate filters! CHARACTERISTICS Excellent flowability at low temperatures Low evaporation loss Good wear protection properties Good dispersing power Very good elastomer compatibility Low lubricant emissions BENEFITS FOR THE USER Minimal cold start wear due to the excellent flowability at low temperatures Reduction of oil consumption Maximum protection and long engine life Excellent engine cleanliness guarantees a long service life for all components to be lubricated Better protection against leaks Good environmental behavior The designation 10W40 stands for the class according to which the engine oil was classified. The SAE class describes the viscosity of an oil, i.e. its flow properties as a function of the operating temperature. Engine oil with class 10W40 is a multigrade oil with good flow properties at cold and warm temperatures. This is necessary in order to lubricate the engine optimally at all necessary points throughout the year. 10W stands for flowability at cold temperatures (W=winter). It is still pumpable down to -30 °C, i.e. liquid enough to spread in the engine. The second part, 40 , describes the flowability of the engine oil at an operating temperature of 100 . The viscosity of a 10W40 oil at 100 is in the range of 12.5 6.2 .
